We are pleased to announce that eighteen students recently submitted their requests to be considered for Agribusiness Council of Indiana scholarships. After a lengthy and deliberate review of all the applications, essays and student achievements, the ACI Foundation is pleased to announce the following recipients by scholarship:
The 2014 John Anglin, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is being awarded to Kelsie Waitt. Kelsie recently graduated from Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Indiana, with honors. Her father, Kent Waitt, is employed as a Feed Salesman for Wallace Grain Company. In the fall, Kelsie will be attending Purdue University majoring in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Kelsie noted in her application that while at Purdue, she plans to become involved in activities that continue her passion for agriculture. Her goals are lofty, and we wish her all the best. Good luck in your future endeavors, Kelsie!
The 2014 Boese Memorial Scholarship is being awarded to Cara Perkins. Cara graduated from Prairie Heights High School in LaGrange, Indiana, with honors. Cara’s father, Eric, is manager of Stroh Farm Supply, and her mother, Jane, is the company’s bookkeeper. Cara plans to attend Michigan State University in the fall studying in their Dairy Technology program. Her goal is to return to the family business equipped to better serve the dairy clientele in their area and someday take over for her dad as manager of the business. Best of luck, Cara!
The 2014 Larry Foster Scholarship is being awarded to Madeline Hayden. Madeline graduated from Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Indiana. Her father, Mike Hayden, is a Liquid Propane Department Manager for Co-Alliance. In the fall, Madeline plans to attend Purdue University with her major course of study being in Speech Language Hearing Sciences. At an early age, Madeline struggled with basic speech issues and through the assistance of professionals was able to overcome her own challenges. Her desire is to “pay it forward” by attending Purdue and becoming a speech pathologist. We wish you all the best in the future, Madeline!

The Indiana Agribusiness Foundation was organized to provide scholarships to both high school graduates and current college students who are pursuing a future in the Agriculture Industry. Through the Foundation, ACI encourages young people to continue their education and eventual participation in agriculture.

The Foundation offers three scholarships:
T. Jeffrey Boese Memorial Scholarship:
Recipient’s parent(s) must be employed by an IGFA or IPFACA member company. This scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors only and any course of study is eligible.
Larry Foster Scholarship:
Recipient’s parent(s) must be employed by an IGFA or IPFACA member company and pursuing ag-related course of study. This scholarship is offered to a high school senior or returning college undergraduate.
John Anglin, Jr. Memorial Scholarship:
Recipient’s parent(s) must be employed by an IGFA or IPFACA member company. This scholarship is offered to students who will be attending Purdue University studying agriculture or forestry.
